Other Information
The Bedford NY court is a well-run entity with professional judges and court staff. The court handles an unusually high number of traffic tickets due to the convergence of local roads, State Road 684 and the Saw Mill River Parkway within its jurisdiction. Because of this geography, it maintains a very busy criminal and traffic calendar; i.e., the law enforcement agencies appearing regularly include: Bedford Police, New York State Police, Westchester County Police, and the MTA and DEP. Bedford police and Westchester County Police prosecute their own traffic tickets, while two prosecutors simultaneously handle the State Police matters. Criminal cases are the responsibility of the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office presently run by Janet DiFiore, Esq.
